A bright meteor of Perseids
The weather had been unfortunately bad during the two week stay in Ohtaki this summer. However, I could have a fine night at the peak of Perseids luckily. This is one of the pictures of meteors at the night. JPEG(46KB) Aug. 13, 1997

A bright meteor of Perseids
A meteor shower is a phenomena which happens when the earth passes though a swarm of dusts emitted from a comet. A meteor shines because of a dust's rubbing with the air. The Perseids shower is named after that all meteors come from Perseus. The mother comet is a 109P/Swift-Tuttle with 135 year period, which has returned in 1992. JPEG(69KB) Aug. 13, 1997
